So I got all my stuff from aquarium by design , but now the closed the doors and now i can't get my favourite sat any more , the only place I seen it was on Amazon.ca but they want 130 for it and 9 bucks for shipping.. And I paid no more then 90$ at the store with tax .
I tried instant ocean at the start and I didn't like it personally switched to fluval reef salt liked it ( it mixed up a little yellowish water weird but good salt) then found out for 10-20$ cheaper omega sea premium reef salt mixed more water then the fluval reef salt for a bit cheaper so I've been using it since and im very happy with it but I was wondering what else is out there that's good or you use

Instant Ocean for me. Never tried anything else really, never felt the need and don't like the idea of switching constantly due to stability concerns.... Highly debatable, but if you do lots of reading online most will say Tropic Marin or Red Sea are probably considered the best.

I was thinking the same thing...I really liked the omega premium salt but now I don't know where to get it. I bought 4 containers when they where closing so I'm good for a bit but hope to find it somewhere else when I run out

I picked up one of those Omega premium salts as well and yet to open it. I have been using the reef crystals from BA's boxing week last year. I guess it's best to stick with one brand that is always available. Say what you will about Big Als but at least you know one will be open 10 years from now selling the same stuff. I was at Mops last week and the feeling is more local stores will be closing their doors soon,

I will be finding out from the boss if he's willing to sell the salt to the public once we get our warehouse set up.
If we do end up selling it to the public still, it would have to be by appointments only.

I will keep everyone updated. Omega is an amazing salt for the price and I see why people are having a hard time switching to another salt

Unibob can get it for you. Aside from that, you don't have a ton of options in Waterloo. Salinity, Instant Ocean, Reef Crystals. That's about it.

always used instant ocean reef crystals (big orange box) love it, zero issues, cheap and everybody has it.

personally salt is salt the suttle differences between brands doesnt really matter when we all control levels through dosing for the most part. just pick one and stick to it for best results. change is always the worst thing for a reef so make sure whatever you decide to use can be found at multiple sources.

somone posted a list of salt and how it turned out after mixing the differences werent much at all. after all all these companies are trying to replicate the same thing.... ocean water
