Boiling water always worked for me in the past it cooks their flesh like egg white. I never worried about sucking up the remains...If you cooked them completely the are done and if you didn't then the base will not suck up. I prefer a large syringe but the water has to be very hot for this to work well...be careful....

the pieces that I have seen are on the back side of a rock, its a base rock so to get at it I would have to tear the tank apart...

I am afraid that if they are back there, your only bet might be small peppermint shrimp and/or apstasia eating nudi's. I would try the shrimp first as nudi's are pricey and you will need a few so that they breed.

Like others have said peppermints. Mine are working great so far. And if you can see some on the back rocks theyre probably more tucked away where you cant see them. Like torx said try pepeermints first befor you try finding the nudis.

thanks everyone, I am going to go with the peppermints, I am going to put 3 in that tank and 2 in the other tank... I would just like to know where they came from, I haven't added anything new for a bit...

I picked up one from unibob last night. I have a few and wanted to get it under control. It was a pleasure doing business with him fast, easy and great price with healthy stock. The rainbow is out and looking great.

Boiling water method only effective if aptasia is not next to sensitive corals
In my experience they seem to always cuddle up in between my prized Zoas so boiling water is not an option

Let us know how adding 1 to your system works. The ones I have brought in are proven aptasia eaters :)

Well when the lights came on this morning the peppermint was on the flipper trying to clean a fish. He scurried away into the live rock. I haven't seen him since. I figured it would take a few days to come out and be exploring. The bubble tip is out and looking great. Thanks again for the high quality livestock. Hope you can get the other stuff by the Brantford show.

Good to hear everything is looking good, and yes it usually takes a few days for the peppermints to get comfortable. I will do my best to get you the rest of the livestock you are after. I have some exciting news product wise too that I hope I can showcase at the show :)
