What do you guys use to dose for Calcium, Alkalinity and Magnesium?

Thinking of adding a dosing unit to the reef tank and looking for some suggestions from the boards here.

Ive used brs and the b-ionic and have had excellent results with both,i should invest in dosing pumps to make life easier, other than that you got your choices,i am also considering going back to kalk for awhile, but only because i dont have dosers and am too cheap to spend that kind of cash at this time  lol

Weird this thread didn't show up for me until there was a reply.

I use the BRS stuff, well I was using the RA stuff, but now back to BRS I suppose.

you have to test like crazy when you first start, but once that's set, you more or less just keep the jugs topped up.  J_T makes custom housings for the stuff too that looked pretty cool.

in my opinion,if the corals are consuming then you will need to dose no matter what salt you use, testing is the key

+1 if you keep LPS or Sps you should be using more then just salt to keep everything up to par

lol. Thanks for all the replies. I might jump in on the BRS order for some stuff first time out, if it works, then I'll stick with it.

I use BRS dosing pumps with some cheap digital timers from Canadian Tire. Works great. As mentioned, it takes some time to get the dosing amounts just right and a lot of testing. Once they are dialed in, just have to test once in a while and bump up the dosing amount as corals start growing. Totally worth the investment!

BRS is pretty much the staple brand when it comes to additives. Shipping is expensive but still affordable compared to most other suppliers.
