hey,, im considering shutting down my tank because of nuisance coral, it driving me crazy,, is there anything out there that eats or kills/tortures to death .. purple cloves, zoos, palys, gsp..? ,,, i cant take it anymore, it just makes me angry and makes me not want to bother with it,, aside from dumping 5% of fresh water in there every 4 days or so...

i will trade my rocks with palys and purple cloves for high quality dry rock of same size, i will be picky about the rocks i want,, ,,,.

i cant upload a pic cuz its too big and i cant crop a pic on my computer..

Don't kill it! Get a hold of yourself man! Maybe guesstimate how many pounds you have and sell the lot for $3-$4/pound, then buy the pieces you want from someone. Seems there's a lot to choose from on this site alone.

Ps-let me know if you decide to do that :)

that stuff is nice n all but it really messes up the growth of other corals,,, it spreads around and kills then starts growing on my lps and sps.... very frustrating,, would be fine if it stayed where i put it..

I used a combination of the above two methods to kill off a huge paly colony last week. There's still a couple straggler polyps that I need to go back in and eradicate, but it's definitely going to be a much easier process to kill those than it was to get the whole colony.

First I turned off all flow and waited for the water to stop moving. Then I scraped off as much as I could using a razor blade, siphoning out each bit of mangled flesh as I moved across the colony. Then I covered all the flesh in kalk paste and let it sit for 20 minutes. After that I sucked out as much of the paste as I could and turned the flow back on. After the rock was totally clear of the paste and I could see what I was working with, I got my arms back in there and plucked off more flesh using tweezers - as much as I could find. Sometime this week I will have to get back in there with the tweezers again and pull off the last few polyps, then follow up with another kalk bath to get any flesh that is left.

I also have another huge colony of gsp that I haven't figured out what to do with..... my girlfriend really loves it, but it's taking up the entire top of a lovely 15 lb plate rock.... if I discovered a creature that would slowly pick away at it and keep it in check, that would be the ideal solution! As long as it doesn't eat any of my other corals lol.
