i had the same thing with my green monti cap... zoa frag fell on it and burned all the flesh off and left a bleach spot like that...
check if anything fell...

Seee if any of our snails have a mushroom or something similar growing off of it. If it settled on our cap while eating it could cause that kind of damage

I put some sinking pellets last night. Maybe some landed on it then someone went to dinner. Nothing had fallen over. I hope whatever doesn't spread/continuing happening.

Yes I am talking about the bleached spot. I have a clown a domino damsel a yellow tail damsel a diamond watchman snails and hermits....

I'm not a fan of hermit crabs in a reef tank...... Even though they claim reef safe I have had mine attack corals on a few occasions.....not saying that's what happened. It does kind of look like a sting....what is that below it? A brain, welso, or scoly.....?
