in my big fowlr tank I have a corner overflow, it is an older one (I think) and the spacers are fairly wide, I constantly have a couple of small fish (chromis and perc clown) that get through and end up in the overflow, I have put pieces of egg crate and they are still getting through, how and what can I do to fix this..its a pain fishing them out because I have a large canopy on the tank...suggestions Please...

You could also use some plastic canvas that they sell for crafts at Len's Mills. If you secure it over the slats and extend it higher than the overflow by an inch or two it could stop them jumping over it as well. Plastic canvas is flexible so easy to fit over anything you need.

Be careful with whatever solution you come up with to either reduce the size of the slots ot covering the top of the overflow. Because you're reducing the size, you'll be increasing the chance it plugs with debris and algae. If it gets clogged and you don't notice right away. You will overflow the dt. Just be aware that whatever you do, you'll need to monitor and clean it very regularly to ensure proper function of the overflow.

so a quick update, I cut and put a piece of egg crate over the top of my overflow and I have no idea how or why but today I fished out 2 of my chromis, I guess they don't want to live in the big tank so they are now residing in the 75g.. maybe they will be happier there..
