Who Has Power?

Was just outside having a smoke. Entire sky flashed blue, and all power went out. I'm in brantford. Anyone else without power, or know what's going on?

I heard of someone in that area having a similar issue. Probably a transformer or something blew. I heard someone hit a pole.

Yeah i heard its suppose to be out for a bit. Hopefully you and your tank stay warm.

Wrap the tank in a blanket to keep it warm if you haven't a back up to keep the house warm.

If the sky lit up, that sounds like a transformer, and it will take some time to get the power back.

I had that happen too, I wrapped my tank in a comforter, my power was out for about 6 hrs..

hope this helps

if you have a newer car you might be able to power your heater and or powerheads with the outlet and power cord.

here are some other things
- use hot water in ziplock bags and float them in the tank
- do phantom water changes every 30min keep the water moving and oxygenated
- wrap a comforter around the tank (as others recommended)

Luckily the power came back around 2am. All very good ideas for next time!
