Hi guys, my name is Dima from Brampton Ontario, and I want to share my new reef build. I would need lots of help from you. This would be my first tank with the sump and that size. I sold my nano 30 gal 6 years ago and many things has changed in this area brands and ways of doing some things. So looks like I have to learn a lot.

So far I have almost prepared new space for my tank in a basement. Had to change carpet to vinyl and install tiles at the area below the tank, so in case of the flooding and if I ever need to remove vinyl I dont have to move my tank.

Redid all the pipe work to create nice and clean area where I can work on my tank.

My tank was ordered a month ago from Miracles its going to be 180gal 72x24x24 , with sump about 60gal. So just waiting for it to start plumbing.

I am taking it slowly no rush so follow up !

Know-how from my dad. If u are installing subfloor and concrete is not really flat instead of using pads complete floor installation and after that one person walks on the floor the other looks at the spots where its moving. Mark them with the marker. After that make a hole make sure it reaches the floor and fill it with constraction adhesive. Leave for 24 hours. Adhensive creates kind of posts and your floor does not move or squeak

I am planning my water mix station and was wondering where I can get a plastic bucket or two, I guess for salt I would need at least 100 gal with my size of a tank and for fresh water maybe 50-60 gal to have ready. ?

Kijiji . I jad sourced via kijiji from a guy in Downtown Toronto. He had tons of empty food grade barrels with covers. Probably used in shipping food colors etc..

One thing you may want to do now, if you have the stand is make sure its perfectly level, most basement floors are not level and its better to fix the problem now then after you fill your tank with water.

One more piece of advice, I only see one power outlet, in this hobby you will quickly learn that there is a ton of things using a power supply. While the wall is still bare you may want to add in a couple more outlets, I ran a 6 ft powerbar behind mine when I had the chance, again after the tank is installed its much more difficult.

Thanks for the advice! The stand I ordered from Miracles actually can be adjusted to any level. Also not knowing that I actually lay down the tiles looking at the horizon but not basement floor, and yes basement floor has an angle for water stock. This brought me another issue how to install molding between the tiles and floor and they leveled differently. Working on it now.

I am planning all the equipment to install with sump on the other side of the wall that you see. When tank arrives I need to measure stuff for plumbing and make a big hole to connect DT with the other room. So all the outlets are in that room.
