Shooters choice is good. It's $6/hour iirc.
I was shooting there regularly when I first got my bow.
Let me know when you want to go.

You can also buy a membership and shoot after store hours. You get a key/keycard.
I was going to do it but was looking for someone else to go with me first. Always more fun with a buddy.

Send me your address. I'd love to come out. 2 hours isn't real bad for a day trip.

Pioneer Sportsman Club has a 3D archery Range

http://www.pioneersportsmenclub.com/archery.php

There are others in the Area too. (One near us... I just can't remember the name) Been awhile since I've used my Compound Bow.
Pretty sure the 3d range is seasonal. Also I called them when I was looking into it and the membership is pricey and even though you are only shooting a bow they still require you to have a PAL.

Is there not a shooting range near Puslinch? I think they have an archery range as well? My wife's uncle used to
shoot there.

Hey Dave.
Pm me your cell number and we'll set something up. Maybe next weekend we can go shoot for an hr or so.

Maybe @scubasteve would like to join as well. Or anyone else wanting to shoot.

Shot my bow for the first time yesterday. Loving it so far.

But made a rookie mistake in my stance

Lol I don't think I could even pull it back with 45lb draw, had shoulder injury when playing baseball pitching :(

Is the draw adjustable on your bow so if you wanted to you could raise/lower?

I don't know much about them, I always just used my Robin Hood style bow as a kid pretending I was a Indian running around :)!

In high school I built my own bow out of Osage orange wood (if anyone knows what kind of wood that is) SUPER Springy :)

Lol.

Yes. That's why I chose it. Good mid range bow. It's adjustable from 40-60/65lbs draw. So I'll eventually work up to it.

Did you get the bow setup for your draw length? Yes the elbow slap is a mistake by the archer. But it can also be a draw length that is too long. If you can shorten the draw by an inch it would help stop that.

I watched a guy do the same thing....but he anchored the draw string at the "side" of his cheek and had a real nasty welt on his face.
I used to bow hunt and have put a nasty welt on my arm as well....picked up an arm guard following day...
Enjoy Eric! Its a great sport, takes some patience, but practice makes perfect!

Yes. Draw length, sight and arrows all adjusted to fit my size

It was user error. I'm not experienced at all with shooting compounds. So my stance was off. Over extended my bow arm and too far forward with my draw arm.

I've learned my lesson. I won't be doing that again ;)

I think I'll probably sign up for the membership by November.
Basically works out to roughly $15/month. Not including the Initiation fee and key fob fee.
So if I go three times a month it pays for itself. Which I can easily see me doing.

If anyone is interested in going, let me know.
