Thanks everyone for the comments & pointers!

I'm going to upgrade my lighting so i can keep soft and hard corals in time, I was told i can add my cleaning crew anytime?

The tank levels are now sitting around 1.022 & it's 100% clear

I need to add in a few more pieces of live rock ( Of course i want some really funky pieces to add in )

But so far so good, Can't wait to watch it grow

Tank looks great!

Just curious but does the Water Depot tell you what the DTS reading is for their RO water? Do they sell RODI?

This is one of the mistakes I made, not knowing any better, I even asked if it was ro/di and was told yes, it was. Then I was informed that it's not a good idea to drink ro/di water, so I came to the conclusion that the water store didn't have ro/di just ro water. I decided to buy an ro/di unit and make my own water, which is much better than lugging those 5 gal jugs around.

Now just to confuse things even further, I was watching a video from the saltwater guy just the other night where he recommends ro/di water for drinking, making tea and coffee? so now I'm not sure LOL - everyone has an opinion.

The question to ask at the water store is whether the tds (total dissolved solids) are 0 and I would recommend asking to see the unit in question and the reading of 0. You may be able to pick up an ro/di unit from someone here or on kijiji or possibly make arrangements from someone in your areawith a unit to buy some water from them, as the quantity of water you'll need is less due to the size of your tank. If buying used off of kijiji you'll want to check the filters in the unit as they'll cost some money to replace.
Hope this helps and doesn't confuse you more
Possibly someone else can jump in if I've missed something
good luck !

Nice tank,

IMO to unit is the way to go but if its not in the budget you'll be fine with the water your getting. Maybe not the ideal choice but ro is definetly better than tap water.

I ran my tank off of "water store" RO water for a long time before purchasing my rodi unit.

I'm aiming for mostly a reef tank with corals, but for fish so far I've thought of some clown fish and a yellow tang...

You should pass on the yellow tang or any tang, a bio cube is to small for tangs.  Time for an upgrade :)
