Looks like a ballast leak to me but never seen a sprial bulb leak like that.
Also would not explain how it got in the pot.
Unless it was really boiling.

Christ I thought that you were joking,,, looks like a lot of fly/bug poop on the bulb and fixture..my 2 cents...

We did have a bit of a "fly outbreak" about a month ago, so maybe. Although, there are lightbulbs about 6ft away on each side which are perfectly fine. Not sure what would make the center one so special.
