Yes there is a file size restriction. Many cameras, even phone cameras, take photos at 10-12mega pixels per photo which equates to approx. 10-12Megabytes (Mb) per photo. As a comparison, a song is only 2-4Mb per song. Basically there is at least 2-3 times as much data on a single photo then in an entire song. One photo here and there is not a big deal, however the site would slow to a death crawl on if people are looking at build threads with photos of that size. We do not have corporate sponsors to help paying the hundred or so a month for a dedicated server and as such can not support the speeds and ram needed to support limitless files sizes. We used to link Photobucket, but a few years ago they removed their free service and started asking for several hundred a year to link photos.
Many of us already use Tapatalk on our phones to browse the forum but it also works great for photos. It is a free app and auto resizes the photos and stores them on the tapatalk servers.
