Will there be a table at frag fest and a seminar on raspberry Pi setups? I'll bring mine for programming ;)

I'm serious

Pi 3 is all set up. Had to find a fast charge outlet (#3 needs minimum of 2000mA)
Up and running, installed Kodi, some lag and buffering.
Not sure what the issue is.

To make things worse we had some power surges this afternoon which looks to have fried my desktop.
Trying to do recovery.

I am sure you will get it sorted. Could be a lot of things, maybe start by hardwiring it to see if the lag is wireless. I stream very large 1080p movies with 0 buffer/lag. I use a 2 amp power plug and stock over clocked it.

Good luck with your main PC. my wife fries hers every couple months, which is why I run a NAS; I always have a backup off the computer. She has fried drives leaving even partitioned data lost.

I used to set my brothers computer up to wipe and reinstall off a partition. I even did a cd that all he had to do was put it in and click enter. Worst part of knowing about computers.

I was a programmer not a hardware/software engineer damn it

I have no idea how she manages it. Pretty sure she kicks it when no one is watching.

I run the one PI on Raspbian OS and have 2 4tb Seagate drives. Transfer speed isn't the best. Around 10mbps, but that is more then enough to stream HD while downloading to the drive and more

LOL, the kids have killed the lap top a couple of times....Too much porn...??? Does she put it in sleep mode or hard shut down? Sleep mode has always caused problems with HD corruption. I've always been a seagate fan but i've been re-thinking that after watching the data from this site over the past few years, the seagate's have a high failure rate where as HGST seam to be a lot better. https://www.backblaze.com/blog/hard-drive-reliability-q4-2015/

Making a bootable Windows 10 image to see if I can use it.
If not, that machine will be Ubuntu as well. Never use it anymore except for holding photos, media, and doing taxes.
Everything I needed was backed up to USB's about a month ago so just sorting out if it's worth getting going again.
