on a good note, i got a mag5 hook up to the scchuran and its working!!!
its sitting in my frag tank test running now and i will move it over to the display later today or tmrw

Oh, true enough, I thought it was a bigger skimmer. Speaking of those specs, it is time I upgrade as well. I have the same skimmer.

If it was under rated, shouldn't it mean that it is constantly full and not able to keep up? There seems to be something actually wrong with the skimmer if it is simply not pulling enough skimmate out from his tank.

That was my understanding of undersized skimmer

Seems to me it is either set too dry or it's not deep enough in the water.

.05 isn't that bad, I clean my skimmer every 3 days. Be nice to see what your New ish skimmer is like.
