When I do my aquarscaping I like to leave a lots of negative space so the fish can swim freely, give depth and perspective to the viewers. Also I like to place a small rock with corals far back to give the feel of distance(the rock in the back now will be replace with a much smaller one) the negative space should be 3-5 time larger then anticipate. Keep in mind corals placement can cover up that negative space if you don’t make room.
