so I saw that my nem was easy to take off b cause he didn't have his foot fully in a crevice, so I gently massaged his foot for 10 mins and he eventually let go. I then got the clowns and put them all in a breeders box and now they are hosting!!!!!!!

What a great idea! So I assume you will keep them in there for a day or two then relocate back to the main tank and hope they remember to host in it? The trick I guess will be to make sure the nem finds a happy foothold in a spot that works for everyone. Let us know how it works out!

Yes so the nem lived near the bottom of the tank and the clowns like at the top. So I'm wondering if I place my nem in the same spot that the clowns will not like it down by the sand bed. But if I place it up high, it might not like its spot and move where I cant see it or just a bad spot in general. What do you think I should do?

I think I got lucky with mine. Basically I placed the nem in the spot I wanted it, making sure the rock offered nice crevices for his foot to grab hold and he seemed to like it and has been in the same spot for almost 5 years. It is about mid-height in my 90g with moderate flow. It sits about 12" below my Marineland Reef Capable LEDs which sit low profile to the top of the tank. My 2 ocellaris don't wander far from it.
I'm thinking what you did is a great start to make the association, as for putting it back in the tank, I'd just suggest putting it on the rock you want, where you want it and hope for the best :)

Update: The clowns were hosting the BTA in the breeder box for about 3 days, so I thought it was time to let them out and see what would happen. Nothing. They would not even go near it. I gave up, but then several week later, and after I came back from holidays, I noticed that the female, Grace (their names are Ace and Grace) was going for my green/white BTA. She started hosting it!!! Finally...and has been doing so for the past week. Has her nose into it all the time I will post a good picture when I am back from my hockey tournament.

took mine 2 years and a new clown to finally have them host.

I've had to large perc in the tank for 2 years, the Original nem 1.5 yrs. I rescued a much smaller onyx clown about a 8 months ago (was a trying time)

Anyway my flame split..I guess they didn't like being neighbors so one moved to the middle of the tank..The little onyx started hosting it as soon as it moved over there...I guess he peaked the interest of the 2 larger clowns because all 3 of them are in it now..its been about 2 months I guess.

I tell ya its hilarious to see a clown fish use a nems tentacles as a mattress
