So i guess when i said i was done i didn't really mean it... i mean, whos ever 'done' working on a reef tank

I am going to be putting a canister bio-pellet reactor on the system as soon as my stuff from BRS comes in.
When i upgrade my skimmer from my main display the coralife 220 will come to this setup. As it does still weigh in at about 100 gallons.

I do have plans to look for a 'cheap' 4ft t5 setup for the frag tank as well.


Another sad note:
I used substrate from a apisita infested tank for the 55 gallon... im kicking myself for it now as there are literally 100's of tiny apistia on the substrate..
Any tips to get rid of them? I currently put a peppermint shrimp in there and hopefully hes hungry but that doesn't always work..

I haven't used aiptasia X  but I used Joes juice and it worked like a charm.  Didn't harm too much else if I recall correctly.  Then I became more careful about where I bought my livestock...lol

Ya been a while since I've updated this
Lots had changed, I basicly moved the entire system to along the wall instead of in the middle of the room, give me more space for my new corner tank

I also finally got rid of that ugly blk tote that I had as a sump and put a DIY 30g breeder in. All 3 tanks ( the 40breeder, the 20g frag tank and the 55g fish only tank ) are connected together.

I also added an ato unit that connects directly to my ro line. I plan to do this type of ato with all my tanks.

And I added a new skimmer, DAS 150, some serious foam in the first 5 min of installation. Read several good reviews about it.

I plan to adding one more pump and manifold it to run my bio pellets, gfo and return to the 55g tanks, that way I can get rid of the maxi jets.

And finally, a shot of the whole room, kinda disorganized becuase of the sump installation today.
I have two drums in the corner, a 70g for ro storage and a 50g for new saltwater

I also upgraded my ro unit to a custom one. 7 stages with dual resin canisters.

well it actually came with a tank i bought, but heck, the more the better...

the funny thing is, the tds is low , around 180, going into the two carbon stages then it comes out like 280,
then it goes to the ro membrane and comes out 14 or so, then after the di stages its dead zero,

there is two, dual inline tds meters

Well this has drastically changed. Lol
I sold the corner tank, and the 40g breeder, took down the 55g and dismantled that part of the stand.
I bought a 4' x 2' x 12" high frag tank, with a metal stand and built in overflow and linked that Into my existing sump and my 4'x 18" w by 7" high frag tank.

This is what it looks like now

I plan on creating a skirt with doors for the entire stand, out of the same wood my 150g tank stand has.

For lighting I'm using my 120w led and my 250w mh pendant on the new frag tank.

I also T'd off a return line to run Into a 18g tote underneath the stand that will act as a live rock holder for filtration, so the rock needed wont take up space in the frag tank itself.

I also have a CPR hob refugium off of the end of the new tank, my plan is to grow a bunch of mangrove trees.

Finally got around to installing the doors,
Just need to screw some black rubber strips in between the door spaces and I'm all done... For now lol

I want to install lights that turn on when the door is opened.

Awesome idea, just steal the switch from an old fridge or dryer. I am sure you have one laying around the farm.

Just use a chain light and screw the chain to the door. Much more professional then hacking together a switch from an old fridge.

I noticed the doors looking more and more crooked as the beer count increases. 

Just kidding. Looking good! I agree with Torx. Just buy some cheap push switches and wire them to the top of your stands.
