Attaching Zoas To Rock

So I'm not there yet but just thinking ahead. WHEN my zoas start producing more heads (fingers crossed) and growing over the frag plug how to you attach them to your rocks? I have a plastic DIY frag rack right now and only a few heads on my zoa frags. But I already know where I'd like them to go on the rocks.

Do you cut the entire colony from the frag plug or just cut the stem off the frag plug and let them continue growing over that? It seems it would be easier to attach the frag plug base to the rock but if you cut the colony how do you attach that to the rock? I have EcoTech Coral Glue and the two colour Epoxy. I'm thinking the epoxy for the frag plug base but unsure how to approach it otherwise.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Also for glue you can just go to the dollar store snd buy the gel super glue. It's cheap easy and safe for the aquarium

Thanks Nathan. It's sort of a ledge where I'd like to put them so not really any holes large enough for a frag plug stem. Ya I was previously using dollar store glue but got some EcoTech glue with the Biocube. And from my very limited experience there seems to be a world of difference between the two. Well in curing time anyways ... and resealing the tube. Not sure if it's worth the price difference. You certainly don't need much of the EcoTech though to be honest. And I prefer cheap over brand name ... USUALLY! ;)

I had assumed that placing the plug base on the rock was the way to go but thought I'd check here first. I'm months away from doing this but it's always good to have a plan. :D

Yeah no problem. Always happy to help... although I'm still learning too:) I've been using the gel super glue and find its no problem. But I've never used the better stuff.

Yeah I've only glued a few things so not a lot of experience here. I've read countless threads of people using dollar store gel super glue with great success. But I would say there's a slight advantage to the EcoTech glue from the few times I've used both. I guess it boils down to how much you're using and how fast you want it to work. I'd suggest getting the smallest bottle of EcoTech and comparing for yourself. Like I said I've only glued a few things but noticed a difference. (I actually used some to glue some shoes that I'd previously used dollar store super glue on. They've lasted much longer with the EcoTech ... but it's meant for corals. LOL)
