Empty space on the stand? Just going to be a nice ledge to set a cold beer on lol. Tank cost me very little to build really, I paid just supplier pricing on the glass and it was more then fair;) can't share the pricing as I feel that would be an insult to the friend helping me out. I'd love to know what a tank this size would be normally tho, dimensions are 60*30*20
Thanks!!

The tank came out quite well and all the edges are polished and beveled giving it a professional look. I've seen some rather nasty diy tanks lol. Patience is key, and don't try to use too much silicone at once.
I will say I enjoy building my own tanks but for someone else that wants to do it beware... Glass is not a precision cut, rather a score snap and hope for the best. Sometimes panels can be perfect or out of square, off by an 8th or more...
All said and done tho if ur careful and use a reputable source for glass it's all a lot easier. Assembly really wasn't more than a half hours work.

According to the price specs over at Great Lakes Aquarium, a 60x30x20 is $1123.29 USD for regular glass, bare bones, no further customizations. I would guess that you were able to make it yourself less than $500 easily. Of course, it also depends on the glass thickness as this can shoot up the prices significantly.

Wow that's def a lot more than it cost me to build... The glass is 1/2" with polished and beveled edges.
I am getting anxious to get this tank running. I haven't totally decided on what to trim the top out in yet. Any ideas? Was playing with the idea of red cedar distressed and finished but am not sure. Maybe some live edge stock?
