I believe I read somewhere you can get aprox 6000 gallons give or take depending on your water going in.

I've been using my current filters for over a year at this point and I'm still getting 0 tds. My water input is 180 ish tds. Filters still white as the day I got them

I lot does depend on the quality of the filters/membrane and how dirty your water is.  Nitro has 180 going in, I have 119.  So a bit of a difference.  I think those come with a tds inline meter, so really, as long as your numbers are good, your filters are good.  I have a 75gpd and the pre/post filters and DI lasted a year, and actually were still showing 0TDS but I swapped them to save wear and tear on the membrane.

A good blackflush kit supposedly works well too, I use mine, and maybe it does something good, hard to tell honestly.

I bought the 5 stage plus from BRS and the DI resin is already changing color after 100 gallons. Great unit 0 TDS and only down fall is 4 to 1 waste.

What is your PSI going in? If you can get up to 80 PSI, you get better production.

Also, I find the BRS DI resin is not consistant. I too helped fill a tank of approx 180 gallons, and the DI didn't last for the fill, and that was with 80 PSI. 2:1 or better production. But on the flip side, my 75 GPD unit at home is running 8 months plus. I evap about 3 gallons a day... Love my halide :)

I'm only getting 65-70 psi out of the tap I was under the impression that 40 psi was minimum needed for this unit to run at peak performance. My DI resin has just started to show change the bottom is 1/4" of brownish\yellow. I only have a 40 gallon tank with a 8 gallon ATO so im thinking I should get some time out on the filters plus a spair set is only 40$. Great unit and for under $200 to my door can't be beat.

I think they design that resin to change colour quicker than probably needed...

My last resin was a spectrapure one.  When I swapped it for a refillable BRS one, I noticed that BOTH of them were refillable.  I may have a nice empty refillable resin container at the swap this year :)

I have the same 5 stage plus as well, I go by what the TDS meter reads and not the colour of the resin. I've had mine for almost 2 years now and I'm very happy with it.
