Small update…

So I had a bit of spare time this week and decided that I need to mud and tape this darn fish room before I can move forward. Let it be known that I'm no mudder/taper person. I hate it!

I got two coats of mud on and I finished sanding the final coat. Looks pretty good for an amateur job, but hey, it's only a fish room.

The floor in this fish room is very uneven so I'm debating if I should tile it or not. It's going to push the build back a week or so and add to the cost of the never ending fish room lol.

So I'll have to go check out some tile this weekend and look for some cheap tiles. Then, I'll have to convince the wife why I need to tile the floor. lol.
At this point I might as well run a floor drain in there as well. But that's a lot of work.

Until the next update.

Sounds like you are moving along good. Your drain is close so you might as well put in the drain while you are at it. And tell wife that marble tile would be best as it replels salt and won't stain.....

I am only a call awayif you need help you know.... but I guess it should have water in it by christmas. :p

Thanks man, tieing in the drains going to be quite a bit of work and messy. I'm not sure I'm up for the work. Been looking at trough style drains lol.
I'm getting imported marble tiles from Venice after getting the go ahead from the wife;)

I will call you one of these days, especially if I'm doing the drains. At this rate, it will see water by Christmas 2015 hahaha

As per your request Benzzz :)

So I've finally run power to the fish room and was able to hang a light and switch so i could see what I was doing in there. Floor has been levelled and tiled. Still have to grout it though. Might do it tonight :dodgy:

The build is moving along slowly. But at least it's moving :p Here are some low quality iPhone pics to document the progress.

My next update should be more significant and exciting as opposed to a boring tiled floor;)

Lol, thanks guys and very funny Unibob. If you want to pay the mortgage be my guess :p I can barely afford to finish this build.

So my floor is done! My wife was nice enough to clean up all of my grouting so we can enjoy it. I'm going to order my plumbing parts tonight, but I can't seem to find spa flex in 1". Well let me re-phrase that. I can't seem to find it for a decent price. Anyone know where I can find some?

Here are some pics of the finished floor. I'm excited!

From another angle and please excuse the mess

Hopefully I can prime and paint the room this weekend and finish the electrical outlets :)

I can see this is going to be a very nice build when completed. Race you to the finish line, seems like you and me are bound by the same restrictions lol as I too can 'barely afford to finish the build'. Slow and steady wins the race.
