Re: My 90G Pile of Rocks

Looks awesome.

I have been planning mine as well.  Mine will be similar, but im going to still incorporate some mesh so that i dont have to worry about jumpers.

I was planning on starting it today,  I got the planer and joiner all set up,  started bringing in the wood for it and the wife saw the wood and had other plans.  So instead i built new coat racks and a shoe/boot rack.  Now i need to get more wood.

Keep us posted with your progress pics of your carpentry masterpiece!

Not sure how much of a masterpeice it will be.  Im gonna try damn hard to make it to match my stand.  My carpentry skills are nowhere near the guy that made my stand.  I would say only just barely good enough to feel like i get better than i would buy in a store and spend less money doing it.  Along with the satisfaction of knowing i did it myself.

Nice job with the canopy! What is your stand made out of again? I was thinking for your canopy you can use some oak veneer and then add some nice smaller oak moulding or something to give it some depth and a nice finished look.

Thanks! My stand is a basic pine stand, painted/stained black. Does Lowes/HD carry the veneer in the lumber section?

Looks amazing!

Love the LED's with the T5 best combo out there!

Thanks! T5s + LEDs should be a mandatory requirement! 8)

I agree.. led supplement is great.... but t5 as a main light is required
