First, China could give a rats ass about IP and patent infringement. They operate on a whole other set of rules. Ie. NONE.
Don't kid yourself, China is capable of making high quality products. That is when major manufacturers choose to manufacture there Many are reluctant because business is SO shady there, that it can find it's way to the knock off market. This is where "companies" like Jacod come in. Don't kid yourself. This isn't going to be anything of quality just with a cheaper price. They don't play by the same rules.
You can't compare them to drug companies, or software manufacturers. There is a TON of money that has to go into those products for YEARS to design and engineer, and then MARKET that product we all want so bad. So they get patents. Oh yeah, MORE money. To try to protect themselves from legitimate companies they will try to get patents on as many designs as they can so a simple work around for a competitor isn't possible. All this changes when someone just rips it off.
I find it ironic that very often (yes, this is more American than us here) that the very person who typically advocates knock off products, and justifies their application is the first one to cry about the economy and the state of the country.
I say all this and I have a Jacod pump for my SW mixing container. Smelled like burnt electronics right out of the box as most of that crap does, it's DC motor ramps up in an irregular pattern, the plug sparks every time I plug it in to the control box, and it's built cheap. It's also half the price of a Waveline.
Just dont' confuse Chinese legit manufacturing with basically underground production.
