This could be a good thing. I will hopefully be trying it soon. The only thing I have read that had me worried is that people were worried about excess lanthanum in the water. But after reading about lanthanum, it simply reacts with water and creates hydroxide (OH−). Hydroxide is something naturally in water. H+ + OH−

H2O

First I need to get some 10micron socks made up and grab some lanthanum chloride.

Here's a link to what I use, there is technical info and usage guidelines. I have the 2 litre and should last about 5 years, I dilute it 10:1 with rodi.

So I decided I'm going to run the gfo from bean bag frags.I couldn't meet up this weekend so in the interim I picked up some seachem phosguard. I have the innovative marine minimax reactor. I have the media tumbling in the reactor in the chamber next to the skimmer outlet. Is that an ok location ?
How long till a product like that starts working ?

When you say "tunbling" how quickly?
Gfo and similar products need a very gentle roll in a reactor. Gfo breaks down fairly quickly and is blown back into the sump once broken down.
Best way is to keep it a light roll in the reactor and burp it once a week by giving a quick blast of water through it to ensure the media doesn't clump.

You should start seeing your PO4 drop within 48 hours or so. At least in my experiences it's taken that long. Sometimes longer even.

The phosguard will work passively in a media bag or in a reactor with no tumbling as it doesn't clump like GFO. It is aluminum based so you don't want it grinding up and going I.to your system.

Hmm...good to know
I just had it gently rolling...but better off not having it tumble at all ?
