Get a strap around the tank... who knows how weak the seam had become, and that's still a TON of water in there.

Sorry to hear.  Was that a used tank?

I definitely would be putting a strap around that bad boy asap before glass just falls out.

Man that shitty to see, hope you find another tank shortly. Good luck with everything Brandon.

Ya, that happened to Mike at the box of water, his display sprung a leak a couple inches down the seam, he drained it down to the leak and left it till morning, the end blew out overnight.

When I moved I rinsed my sand in some of the original tank water and reused it.

i know your feeling, i had the bottom pain break in a 125 gallon, tank drained in 25 mins. luckily i had a 75 setup as well and moved everything into that and went and bought a 90 that day to temporarily set up. as far as the sand i have moved it straight into new tanks a couple of times now when doing transfers with no ill effects. probly had a mini cycle but never tested. only had fish, lps and softies though.

Sorry to hear about this I think it is all our worst nightmare. I would probaly go with half if not all new sand. If you use half of the old stuff rinse it really well. I just transferred tanks and put new sand and everything did fine. I had some corals die but not because of a cycle I think the water in the totes got a little bit to chilly. Good luck brother god speed

Thank god you were home to catch this while it was occurring and not away.
Sorry to see this happen it's obviously not something anyone should have to deal with.
