Received a few reef goodies in the mail today. One of which was 2 RW-8 powerheads. Quietness I am happy, but I think I may need something bigger for more flow.

I have the 2 rw8 on 100%, and tunze nano wavebox in display and it just doesn't seem like enough flow...What does everyone think? Tank is 48x24x22

I have one on back wall and one on right side glass.

Love that you didn't go bare bottom (no offence to the BB guys ;) )

Sony Xperia Z3

Still more to add.

The fragtank will not have any sand in it. Only reason I'm using it is strictly for looks.

Exactly how I have mine set up.

Aesthetics in the dt, bb in the frag tank and a nice sized fuge w/dsb (not sure if you're going this route or not?)

Sony Xperia Z3

No fuge. Just liverock and large blocks of marine pure.

I have a vague understanding of marine pure. Is it also a type of carbon dosing like nitra guard? Or is it just ceramic bio surface media?

Sony Xperia Z3
Just bio surface media. I am using large blocks for easy removal to rinse if debris builds up.

Whats your thoughts on what they say over on RC about the Marine Pure unibob? As for the flow, if it was me I would pick up a Gyre. I think its probably the best thing I have bought for the Tank. The under tow is what really makes things happen. I think it would work fantastic especially in the way you want to do your aquascape. Its looke'n good!
