I know I'm just a newb... but I'm gonna throw in another "stick it out" comment.  Why do you need more space if 90% of your tank just recently opened up for you?  Not meaning that as a low blow or anything at all like that, just trying to put a perspective on things.  You have a huge tank with only 10 or so SPS, a few LPS (i think right?), a good amount of fish and liverock... just wait for things to stabilize and then restock slowly.  It will happen eventually.  Even though the PO4 and NO3 are low, it doesn't necessarily mean that the biosphere is in place to support SPS.  The so called "tank maturity."  I'm still waiting for that myself I think...

I read a quote once that made a profound effect on me: "nothing good happens fast in reefing."  Sometimes, when the going is good, I lose that thought and start speeding up.  I always regret it!  I've had my share of losses, probably not to the extent that you have, but enough to make me stop and wait.  It's all part of the learning curve.  We both wanted to jump right into SPS and skipped the other shit, but unfortunately there is no substitution for time.  I've halted my stocking and am just waiting things out now.  I've started to have some frags encrust, and montis are taking off at the rate of several cm/month, but I'm going to sit still and wait for my acro frags to encrust off their plugs before adding anything new.  Once things are stable for you, you have more than enough water volume to act as a buffer and help to keep you in that stable position.  Just takes patience!  (Or so I've read and keep telling myself!)  You spend an absurd amount of time on forums while bored at work, just like me... maybe spend more time reading and less time posting.  You should see my Chrome bookmark list... it's ridiculous!!!

Anyways good luck whatever direction you take man.

Again, stability is key to a successful reef..... You've changed way too many things way too quickly......I'm sure if you were to reflect back on your params over this past year even then you would notice significant swings is probably all params....this just isn't acceptable to any moderate to difficult corals. Are all you lps still alive and growing? What about the chalice? Zoos? These can be difficult to keep as well..... And a lot will not stand up to significant water quality changes or poor water in general.

Just because your parameters are fine now doesnt mean squat.  If things aren't stable, or you had messed up parameters even in the past SPS can get stressed and take months to stabilize, colour up and start growing.

So essentially there might not be anything wrong right now.....you may just still be feeling the effects of past problems.  My suggestion is pick a path that you know will work and stick to it long term.  Eventually everything will make a turn for the better.

Agreed. If there is one thin I have learned in my short time with saltwater tanks.
Is things take a long time. Some corals take months too recover.
Hope things come around soon.

Nothing wrong with prodibio products they work. No gfo no pellets no carbon just skimmer and monthly water changes. Like everyone said pick one system you believe works stick it out 6-8 months don't change up and see the results. Long term SPS guys can vouch you really don't see much with frags until the 6-8 month mark in growth or colour. Any new SPS I add I still pray to the reefing Gods it makes past 2 months in my main display. Then I know for sure it's happy! Take advice from guys who's systems have been around for awhile and see what system they use and try to copy it! Cheers! Good luck!

Curious as I haven't seen mention of it.... Ur doing water changes pretty often I assume right now, what's ur routine? New saltwater is pretty hard on corals and fish but finicky sps I've found that if the water doesn't age at least a week they get pissed of lol. Some of the nicest tanks I've ever seen only get water changes when the nutrients start rising. It's not uncommon to  go a couple months between especially if ur dosing what's needed. Just a thought and I'm sure someone else will chime in here but more often can be just as bad for the tank sometimes less is better( more stable) imo

Depends on the volume I would think.  In my ~150 gallons the tank doesn't even blink if I change 15 gallons a week, and I've done as much as 45 gallons in a week, and for me I usually see an improvement.  At least, I've never seen anything bad from water changes.

I do a 30 gallon change or so every week.

Water is made well in advance, I have a 65 gallon holding drum that I keep my salt mixed water in. The current batch is about 5 days old.
