To keep dragging things along… I have been playing around more with my aquascaping to see if I can improve my latest structure to minimize shading and allow optimal flow and increase space for more coral placement. I am hoping to create something more in line with this design….

… and with a full load of sps

so here is my attempt…

I ended up drilling holes and using acrylic rods to keep things together. About 2/3 of the structure remains open underneath. It measures close to 40 inches end to end and about 20 inches at its widest part.

I completely missed this when you posted it, but I see it now :)

How is the cycling coming? You have a sump now I'm assuming?

Been cycling for about 2 weeks, going fishless and slowly adding some fish food and SeaChem Stability. I tested and ammonia was not present, so I think things are starting to take off. I did wash and cure my rock, so I don't think there was much die off and there doesn't appear to be much phosphate leaching with levels of 0.07 which is acceptable during this phase.I will stay on top of it and see if it gets worse.

I also have my tank online with Fusion and fired up my new WXM module to control my MP40s. I am going old school with my 6215 wave box and 3 MP40s on this build. Still need another mp40 driver, as one of my older ones shorted out a while ago.
With all the hype about the new Maxspect Gyre, I might have gone that route if I was starting over.
I do like my Vortechs tho :)

Very nice Tyler. Do you still have the temp setup going with fish and corals that you plan on moving into the new tank?

Loving this build as well. This forum is booming!.

Super sexy aquascape, I love the two island idea.

It is definitely booming right now... lots of great builds going on! There should be tons of sexy coral photos pouring in by the end of 2015...
