So the light search continues, but I think I have found the solution

They appear to be small and light enough that I can just let them sit on an eggcrate lid. The question remaining is, how many and what size? They do give suggestions in the description, but that's from a seller's point of view. Wondering what users think. My tank is 18"x20"x20", and looking for roughly 50/50 colour. What say ye?

Turns out those lights are from 21ledusa! They have a 50/50 60w version, with dual dimmers and plugs. That's my light! Weighs about 6lbs. Would eggcrate support that?

The video shows them sitting on egg crate. I gotta think it'll stay cool enough given it won't be enclosed by anything.

When I ran my MH, I kept the ballast under the tank in the cabinet with layers of bricks between them for air flow, they do get hot...

They're waterproof. I doubt 21ledusa would show in their own demo video to set them on eggcrate if it was bad for the lights.

How waterproof are they for that price? And led have heat sinks and cooling fins and fans to allow them to remain cool. They do generate heat. Moisture would also be a concern.

No fans. I doubt you could drop them in a tank (maybe you could!), but think how many things we do submerge completely in water. My aquatic life fixture had 66 leds (granted it was only 22w) that sat on eggcrate under canopy. Never got hot.

It says IP66 right on the one photo. I'm not sure if they added this to photo or if it's on fixture. But IP66 is dust and seawater safe :)

Cameras I install outdoors are mostly all IP66 rated, some spec'd for IP68

Anyone know who makes the smallest (physically) heater? Tank is 30ish gallons, room temperature usually around 70 degrees.
