Working on the family tank at home tonight. Things got a bit out of hand with it because I’ve been occupied with the shop. Basically starting over. Sometimes that the best way.

Major scrub job and a big water change tonight.

First, added a @maxspect_ig gyre in the back corner blowing in two different directions.
I have definitely upped the flow and I will likely do so even more by the time I change out the pump etc.

Lowered the @aquaillumination Prime HD’s in preparation for doing some SPS. PAR test to follow.

Next I’m going to upgrade the return pump and reconfigure the back for refugiums. There will be one each side. Forgoing the skimmer in favor of refugiums and water changes.

After Par testing I will decide on whether I need another Prime or if I’ll go Hybrid.

Will be Running Fritz ROM salt, Kolar Carbon, Cheato, TRITON Core 7 and a high nutrient diet

Great build thread! I am interested to see how the triton method works for you.
Are you just sticking with the primes then and using the kessil ap700 for something else?

Was going to use the ap700 but there was a mishap and I have to repair it
I likely will use it once it’s fixed

I may end up using a t5 hybrid fixture
Depends what the par meter tells me

Was just reading back through this thread, boy has the design changed since I started. Always learning and morphing to fit the end goal.

Decided to change the spectrum now to mimic the BRS AB plus suggested setting for the Primes

Finding the gyre a lil loud, may and up going to NERO 5 we’ll see.

Reading the original title of this thread, it’s funny how it’s changed for now but such is life.

Today my wife started painting out the black high gloss Innovative Marine stand. ( just primer so far) going to be off white aged chalk paint look to blend in better in the room.

I brought in an Aquatic life white hybrid fixture I’m going to put up with the prime HDs for doing sps. Used the par meter and primes alone wouldn’t do it unless I added 2 more.

Going to still upgrade the pump to the Rossmont one etc
Stay tuned :)

It will be well worth the wait for the brackets. I'm running the 24" with a radion xr15 over my Red Sea 170 and my corals are absolutely loving all the light.
