New manderine in the tank as well. I need a little color flashing around. I want to add a few Firefish possibly down the road as well.

Some pics. Ian at Sustainable Marine Canada has hooked me up with just about everything I have requested or needed. Clean up crew, several types of macro algae and different types of Mysis. He just dropped off some blue macro algae, manderine and some pods today for me. I am always looking for more large Gorgs for the tank.

Top down to see the blue algae. Hard to get the color on camera, but it really is a dark blue right now.

Nice!
You don't find that the ponies wrap their tail on the gorg often and prevent the polyps from coming out?

The horses love hitching to the gorgs. Once they leave, polyps are back out fairly quickly. I am always looking for more colorful Gorgs, just hard to come by. Ian and sustainablemarinecanada has been able to get a hold of these 5 plus the orange tree sponge.

A few more and I will be removing the fake plants in there.

Was just curious. As I've always wanted a pony tank. But hate the artificial plants I always see in them.

Loving the tank BTW

I completely agree. The plan from the beginning was to remove them as I grow my collection. I just needed something for the start up. Another 3 probably and out come the fakes.

Gorgs do they have issues if the hit the air ?
I do not think so. Sponges yes, gorgs no. I have one that I specifically remember taking it completely out of water to switch tanks and it is growing great

I recently took mine out of water and rearranged the rocks and sections have turned black and totally died. It was growing great and healthy up til then.

Looking great.

The thinner the species the more sensitive they are to drying put. They don't produce much mucus so they desiccate very quickly. The thicker more waxy ones do a little better but even then it is best to spray them every 15 min with water to keep them wet. If they need to be out for periods of time. They do best with short times out of the tank.

Horses are doing great. They love hitching to cheato and picking pods out. I need to get this ball moved as it is starting to blanket the surface of the tank. It suddenly decided to grow like mad.

Beautiful Mark , your kids must be in heaven seeing your amazing tanks I wish I had stuff like that growing up (everything seemed 10x better as a kid)

Do they have a favourite tank between the 2?

Also how's the Manderine

I love them both equally in different ways. I say the same about my kids lol.

The manderine is doing great. Tank is saturated with pods but I recently caught him eating some of the Hikari Mysis when it settles in his corner. Everything is doing well. I also have 4 purple Firefish and 2 red Firefish as well as 3 starfish, gramma, peppermint shrimp, golden coral Banded Shrimp and peppermint shrimp.
