Tonight I will be setting up the Triton additives. The refugium is ready and I believe it is time. I will be posting my results here and keeping everyone updated. I've done lots of research and seen lots of reviews. This build has been headed that way since day one.

Triton has been going extremely well. My parameters are coming together er slowly but all in the right on. Triton has suggested to get the ALK to 7.0 dKH with the Core7 method and right now it's at 6.05 up from 5.04 from last Saturday when I started dosing. My corals are loving it. Everything seems to have perked up. I have never seen my plate coral look so good, The hammer is huge. The few SPS that I have are doing great. I'm hoping it will continue.

Now for my next step. Alexa working with the Apex. I've got an echo dot and it's all setup it was super easy to do. I have connected to the Apex Fusion site and can, right now, ask for a status update. It only gives me the tank temp at the moment but I'm doing more research on how to control other things with my voice. I "should" be able to voice command feed mode, pumps on and off, get status reports on anything I have hooked up to my apex. For this old guy and all the "high tech" stuff available, it might take me a minute or two to get it all working. It is very interesting though and I'm having a ball doing it.

Isn’t 7DKH low?
Alk is actually extremely complicated. Your best alk level for your tank depends on several factors such as lighting, phosphate levels and a few other things. I had a great discussion with the owner of Reef Wholesale about it. I should have recorded it as I learned so much from him in a short period of time.

I also thought that 7dKH was on the lower side of the scale but I'm determined to follow Triton's recommendations as they are the scientists behind the product that they put out. I'm sure that they would know more than me about the science than I would ever know. I'm not a scientist and for me to question their expertise would be the same as trying to tell an engineer how to build a bridge.

how much it cost to build a stand like that?

I don't like to think about it! If you were to build a tubular stand with this tank size and had to have it fabricated by someone, the cost is about the same. Some of the costs was to buy the tools (special saw blade was the big one) and finding the material was difficult. As far as I'm concerned, it sits in my living room and I have to see it all the time so I wanted something a.) Pleasing to the eye and b.) durable enough to hold 110 gallons of water and c.) something different that not many people have.

Well the interior decorator was in again last night. Some pics of him working away and the final piece of art. Just have to do the right side of the tank now.
