You could take out the sand and put in a rubber maid tote, keep,under water and just add a circulation pump to it while you work on stuff as well
Where's the risk if there's no livestock?I personally wouldn't risk it. I'd start fresh. But that's just me.

My point exactly.Besides, a couple bottles of copods, a few seed live rocks and you'll be teaming with life in no time. That stuff multiplies fast.
