So someone made a comment about my tank yesterday about having only one overflow and that I should have 2 unless its a 2" drain. Is this something i should worry about?

No. It depends on the size of your return pump. If your return pump puts out more water than your drain can handle then it's of concern but I don't think that will be the case for you.

Will be adding a Reef Octopus SRO 3000 skimmer to my equipment list! Just gotta wait till adams done shutting down, Cant wait to get this beast. Im going to be happy knowing im doing this right and gathering quality equipment for this build. Still cant make up my mind if i want to buy another Vortech to go along my other one.

My advice with the pumps is to with another jebeo 25, very reliable affordable pump

If im doing jebao, which i might cause they are good pumps, is go with the 40's. But i do like how much i can play with on the vortechs, and the looks of the pumps and controller on the ES. Ill hve to think unless i can find a used vortech i might have to go with jebao lol.

I would recommend the 40 instead of a 25. I got a 25 to go on the opposite side of my wp40 wavebox and I wish I went with the 40.

The WP pumps put out a good bit of water but the stream of flow is very narrow.

I actually am dying to try out a Maxspect Gyre... that's another option to consider! Cheaper than a vortech and runs circles around them from everything I've seen on YouTube.

Agreed go with a 40 - personally I got a dual and love it. Just be sure to clean the once a month

I had 2 40's on my 6' 150g and it was too much for the corals,
I now run 1 40 and 2 25's

Actually most zoa's come from highly turbilint waters - you can always turn down the flow on the 40's and you can create a reef crest action (#2 setting)

This should work instead of pondliner, double sided poly sheet. Had a big roll sitting around so figured id save myself some money and use that. Just gotta get the sump in so i can staple it up neatly lol.

Just playing around with my extra dry rock...still dont know if i wanna use this or live rock. Would be a waste not to, and nice big pieces. Just dont have a way to cook it, or wash it for that matter with it being winter now lol.

I already have that in my 75. And ill be transferring all of that. Just dont know if i wanna fight algae due to the dry rock leaching.

Not all dry rock leaches, usually only dry rock that has been in a tank before and soaked up all the phosphates.
